Sport Minister Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Attends Closing Ceremony Of Islamic Solidarity Games In Riyadh 2025
The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games concluded at the Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University sports stadium in Riyadh. Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, attended the closing ceremony. Saudi Arabia secured fourth place, winning a total of 57 medals: 18 gold, 12 silver, and 27 bronze.
Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, vice president of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the Games, was also present at the event. The ceremony featured various Saudi artistic and cultural performances. Additionally, volunteers were honoured for their contributions.

During his speech at the closing ceremony, Prince Abdulaziz expressed profound gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his generous patronage. He also thanked Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his unwavering support for sports in Saudi Arabia. This backing was pivotal to the tournament's success.
The event included a parade showcasing participating nations and a video highlighting memorable moments from the games. These elements celebrated the spirit of unity and competition among Islamic countries.
In a significant moment during the ceremony, Prince Abdulaziz officially handed over hosting rights for the next edition of the games to Malaysia. He wished Malaysia success in organising an event that continues to uphold solidarity and achievement.
