Global AI Excellence Model Partnership Sharjah: Strengthening AI Governance And Leadership

Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park has entered a Strategic Partnership Agreement with the Global Centre for AI Excellence, aiming to advance structured artificial intelligence adoption across government, industry, and innovation ecosystems in Sharjah and the wider region through a recognised global framework for trusted, measurable and responsible AI deployment.

The agreement is signed at Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park’s headquarters, with senior representatives from both organisations attending. Their presence underlines how the collaboration is intended to strengthen Sharjah’s role on the international artificial intelligence stage and support long-term plans for research, technology, and innovation-led growth.

A central element of the partnership is the Global AI Excellence Model, an international framework used to guide secure, ethical, and economically verifiable artificial intelligence use. Governments, enterprises, and innovation clusters can apply the model to move from experimentation to scaled production, while maintaining clear oversight and accountability across their AI programmes.

Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park and the Global Centre for AI Excellence plan joint initiatives to build leadership and workforce capabilities. These efforts include training certified assessors, developing AI leadership pathways, and increasing professional skills so organisations can design, govern, and operate artificial intelligence systems that meet rigorous safety, trust, and performance standards.

International estimates suggest artificial intelligence could add over US$15 trillion to global output by 2030, with productivity in some industries rising by as much as 40 percent. Yet many institutions struggle to secure reliable returns because AI governance, risk management, and value measurement frameworks are still incomplete or inconsistently applied.

Through this partnership, Sharjah positions itself as an active global contributor addressing these gaps. The focus is on structured, transparent, and results-based artificial intelligence implementation, which is increasingly sought by policymakers, investors, and international bodies that require solid evidence of value creation, risk mitigation, and alignment with broader digital transformation strategies.

Artificial intelligence cooperation between UAE and UK

The Global Centre for AI Excellence is based in the United Kingdom and already works with public and private institutions across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Its collaboration with Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park represents an expanded presence in the United Arab Emirates and deepens wider UK-UAE engagement on advanced technologies and innovation governance.
