Soudah Development's Annual Sustainability Report 2024 Highlights Key Environmental And Cultural Initiatives
Soudah Development, a company under the Public Investment Fund, has published its 2024 Annual Sustainability Report. This document highlights efforts in sustainability, biodiversity, wildlife restoration, and cultural preservation in Soudah and Rijal Almaa. The report aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, showcasing the company's dedication to global best practices.
Eng. Saleh Aloraini, CEO of Soudah Development, stated: "Our commitment to sustainability stems from its central role in the development of the Soudah Peaks project. We look at it as an enabler of the project, a fundamental element, and a key pillar around which we have designed the project. Soudah Development presents this report to document its achievements and progress in preserving the environmental and cultural landscape in the project areas year after year."

The report outlines significant environmental achievements. Over 73,000 native trees have been planted. Wildlife restoration efforts include reintroducing four ibex and eight gazelles into their natural habitat. Since 2023, this brings totals to 27 ibex and 18 gazelles. Additionally, 809 tons of waste were removed from national parks while 980 tons of construction waste were recycled.
Innovative technologies have also been implemented to reduce water consumption by more than 80% through water boxes. These efforts underscore Soudah Development's commitment to environmental sustainability within their projects.
In addition to environmental efforts, Soudah Development has launched several cultural initiatives. In 2024, they introduced a community training program for local artisans. This program aims to equip small handicraft businesses with skills necessary for sustainable tourism.
The company also began restoring four heritage sites: Borj Tihan, The Bee House, Sheikh House, and Al Hamidiyah Duct Tower. These restorations help preserve the region's cultural and architectural identity.
Soudah Peaks Project
The Soudah Peaks project promises new luxury hospitality experiences while embracing local architecture. It comprises six distinct zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Red Rock, Jareen, and Rijal. These areas will feature luxury mountain resorts, hotels, retail spaces, residential options with stunning views as well as sports and entertainment attractions.
This comprehensive approach ensures that both environmental conservation and cultural heritage are integral parts of development plans in Soudah.
