Somalia Commends Saudi Role In Yemen Security And Regional Stability
Somalia has restated support for Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and recognised institutions, while also backing Saudi efforts to stabilise the country and the broader region. In a detailed statement, the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs underlined that any move to weaken Yemen’s territorial integrity or constitutional legitimacy is completely rejected.
The ministry emphasised that its position reflects a firm commitment to Yemen’s security and stability, and to the safety of state institutions. Somalia confirmed that Yemen’s unity must remain intact, and that constitutional bodies should continue to operate without interference from any internal or external parties.

Somalia praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for what it described as a pivotal and responsible role in Yemen. The statement highlighted Riyadh’s political, diplomatic, and humanitarian efforts aimed at ending the Yemeni crisis, reducing human suffering, and advancing a comprehensive peace process within agreed regional and international frameworks.
Somalia also noted the work of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, crediting the coalition with supporting Yemeni state bodies and helping to safeguard territorial unity. According to the statement, these efforts are viewed as contributions to wider security and stability in Yemen and surrounding states, consistent with international legitimacy.
Reaffirming its stance, Somalia renewed full support for the legitimate Yemeni government, which Somalia said should lead any political settlement. The ministry stressed that peaceful dialogue, led by Yemenis themselves, is the only path that both preserves national sovereignty and answers the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability, and development.
The statement went on to express Somalia’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in protecting regional security. Somalia repeated its rejection of any threats to the Kingdom, to international maritime navigation routes, or to the stability of states in the region, particularly those bordering key shipping lanes.
Somalia concluded by noting that Yemen’s stability is central to the security of the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Horn of Africa. The statement called on the international community to keep backing efforts for a comprehensive, lasting political solution that ends the conflict and returns Yemen to a normal regional role.
