Social Development Bank Participates In Al-Baha Craftsmen Forum 2025 To Support Local Artisans
The Social Development Bank (SDB) took part in the Al-Baha Craftsmen Forum 2025, inaugurated by Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Baha Region. The event saw attendance from various government and private sectors, including Deputy Governor for Technical and Vocational Training Programs Saleh Alhoshani, alongside regional leaders and officials.
SDB's involvement in the forum aligns with its strategic goals of promoting social responsibility and empowering productive families. This initiative aims to transform craft heritage into valuable products that generate income, enhance family stability, improve quality of life, and uphold authentic Saudi values.

During the forum, SDB introduced training and guidance sessions along with innovative initiatives like "Yamam Café" and "Tajseed." These initiatives are designed to support the sustainability of handicrafts by linking them to the labour market. They also provide artisans with opportunities to market their products through the bank’s digital platforms and sales outlets.
The forum was organised by the General Administration of Technical and Vocational Training in Al-Baha Region in collaboration with the municipality, the Heritage Commission, the Al-Baha Chamber of Commerce, and SDB. It featured 18 artisans across 12 different pavilions. The aim was to showcase traditional handicrafts while supporting male and female artisans in preserving local cultural heritage.
SDB’s participation highlights its crucial role in supporting national crafts as a sustainable income source for families and entrepreneurs. This effort strengthens the support system for Saudi artisans, ensuring they can turn their skills into economic opportunities that align with Saudi Vision 2030 goals while enhancing cultural and economic identity.
The forum's objective was not only to display traditional crafts but also to reinforce national identity by preserving local cultural heritage. This aligns with SDB's commitment to fostering local economic development through comprehensive support frameworks that include marketing, financing, and professional development.
