SNOC Successfully Drills And Tests Hadiba-02 Well In Sharjah's Gas Field

The Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) has achieved a significant milestone with the successful drilling and testing of its second well, "Hadiba-02," at the Hadiba gas field. This onshore field is located north of the Sajaa field in Sharjah. The well is part of SNOC's ongoing efforts to evaluate and develop the emirate's gas resources.

Engineer Khamis Al Mazrouei, Deputy CEO of SNOC, stated that the successful drilling and testing of "Hadiba-02" marks a crucial step in enhancing Sharjah's energy infrastructure. He highlighted that this achievement underscores SNOC's commitment to innovation and sustainable growth as they continue to develop natural gas resources in Sharjah.

SNOC Drills Hadiba-02 Well Successfully

Early results from "Hadiba-02" suggest additional gas reservoirs are present. The well was drilled to a depth of 13,200 feet and is expected to be connected to the production line soon. Drilling will continue over the next few months to fully assess the field’s potential.

This accomplishment follows the discovery of "Hadiba-01" in 2024, which confirmed substantial gas and associated liquids within the Thamama formations. "Hadiba-01" was swiftly brought into production, contributing significantly to Sharjah’s domestic energy supply.

Masoud Al Hamadi, Executive Director of Upstream at SNOC, emphasised that the successful testing of "Hadiba-02" resulted from a coordinated team effort. This included geophysical and engineering studies through planning and execution. He described it as a testament to SNOC’s capability to transform new discoveries into efficient output.

Enhancing Energy Independence

SNOC reaffirmed its role in boosting Sharjah’s energy independence by expanding exploration and production of hydrocarbon resources. This effort is supported by strategic gas storage and processing infrastructure within the emirate.

Hadiba now stands as Sharjah’s fifth onshore gas and condensate field, marking it as the second major discovery in five years. This reflects Sharjah’s successful energy exploration initiatives.

Al Mazrouei added that this milestone reinforces Sharjah's vision to meet energy needs while ensuring a reliable long-term energy supply for its residents.
