Smart Engineering Command And Control Center Launched At Prophet's Mosque For 24/7 Operations

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has brought a new Smart Engineering Command and Control Center at the Prophet’s Mosque into full operation, aiming to manage services more efficiently during peak seasons such as Ramadan and Hajj.

The centre uses digital dashboards to follow operational data in real time, covering assets, services, visitor feedback and compliance records. This digital approach is intended to speed up responses to operational reports and support smoother worshipper movement within the Prophet’s Mosque throughout the year.

Smart Center Launch at Prophet Mosque

According to the authority, the smart engineering center introduces a new method for tracking the operational performance of services at the Prophet’s Mosque. It supports service quality for visitors, strengthens operational governance and aims to raise readiness levels in line with wider service ecosystem reforms.

The system relies on interactive screens linked to integrated digital databases. These databases collect historical, current and predictive data, which are then converted into analytical reports and digital performance indicators. The information helps managers assess service levels, address issues quickly and plan for periods of very high density.

The project is aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, especially those connected to operational excellence, innovation and improving the experience of pilgrims and visitors. By centralising data and decision-making tools, the centre supports long-term plans to upgrade services at the Prophet’s Mosque and the Grand Mosque.

Tawfig Al-Rabiah, Minister of Hajj and Umrah and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the authority, inaugurated the Smart Engineering Command and Control Center at the Prophet’s Mosque on Sunday. The ceremony was attended by the authority’s CEO Ghazi Al-Shahrani, along with several executive leaders.

The launch comes as the holy month of Ramadan in 1447 AH approaches, when worshipper numbers increase sharply. The centre was therefore designed to manage crowded conditions and complex operational needs, while also supporting routine daily activities when numbers are lower but still steady.

The centre is staffed by qualified personnel working in four operational shifts, ensuring round-the-clock coverage. These teams handle reports rapidly, coordinate with field units and help maintain continuity of services, including cleaning, maintenance, crowd support and other operational activities that affect visitors directly.

Key and subsidiary performance indicators are used to follow the operational performance of all services tied to the Prophet’s Mosque. By serving as a unified platform for asset and service management, the centre supports system development, enhances coordination with external bodies and helps improve service quality for visitors in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
