SLG Group Commences Construction Of AED 200 Million Integrated Hub At Dubai Industrial City

Silver Line Gate Group (SLG Group) has initiated the construction of a new AED200 million hub at Dubai Industrial City. This facility, covering 1.37 million square feet, will include manufacturing, warehousing, and corporate offices. It is expected to open next year. The announcement was made during SIAL Paris 2024, a prominent food exhibition held from 19th to 23rd October in Paris, France.

Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President of Industrial at TECOM Group, highlighted the importance of food security for economic prosperity. He stated that sustainable food and beverage value chains are crucial for global resilience. "Advanced manufacturing is an essential pillar to achieve this vision," he said, emphasising the role of Dubai Industrial City in fostering growth.

SLG Group Starts AED 200 Million Hub in Dubai

SLG Group is known for its brands like Lancy, Gardo, Silva, Sama, and Zain. The new facility will produce 90,000 tonnes of milk powder and 10,000 tonnes of butter annually. This expansion will enhance their range of milk, whey, and speciality products such as fruit and vegetable-based seasonings.

Shereen Saeed, General Manager at SLG Group, expressed enthusiasm about the new facility's potential impact on the regional value chain for F&B products. She noted that Dubai's status as a global industrial hub makes it an ideal location for their growth strategy. "Our state-of-the-art facility will leverage Dubai Industrial City’s infrastructure," she said.

Dubai Industrial City is part of TECOM Group PJSC's network of business districts across Dubai. It plays a significant role in supporting the UAE’s food security agenda and economic excellence through innovation in manufacturing. The collaboration with SLG Group aligns with initiatives like Operation 300bn and Make it in the Emirates.

The development aims to strengthen the regional manufacturing economy by ensuring a steady supply of essential milk-based products. This move will also support SLG Group's expansion into new markets while contributing to Dubai's vision for a food-secure future.

The project reflects Dubai Industrial City's commitment to nurturing advanced manufacturing ecosystems. By supporting companies like SLG Group, it contributes directly to achieving strategic economic goals outlined in the Dubai Economic Agenda 'D33'.
