Six Flags Qiddiya City Opens Under Riyadh Governor Patronage
The launch of Six Flags Qiddiya City marks a major step for Saudi Arabia’s entertainment plans. The new theme park opens as part of efforts to expand leisure options in the Riyadh Region. It also supports Saudi Vision 2030 goals to attract visitors and diversify economic activity.
The official inauguration took place on Monday evening, under the patronage of Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz. The event highlighted the governor’s continued backing for projects that support regional development. Senior figures from government and sports organisations attended the ceremony alongside other officials.

Six Flags Qiddiya City is the first theme park within the wider Qiddiya entertainment ecosystem. The park offers a mix of high-thrill rides and family attractions. It combines physical rides with immersive digital experiences. Designers used advanced technologies to link each attraction with the site’s landscape and cultural identity.
Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company Abdullah Aldawood delivered a speech during the opening. Aldawood thanked Prince Faisal bin Bandar for patronage and attendance. Aldawood also stressed the importance of this support for new initiatives. Aldawood said the opening brings Qiddiya’s vision into reality, stating, "We are building a destination that inspires imagination, ignites excitement, and brings people together through exceptional experiences."
The ceremony drew several leading officials, including Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan also attended. Other attendees included Prince Fahd bin Mansour bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, ministers and senior officials. The park’s opening signals growing investment in large-scale entertainment projects within the Kingdom.
