SIF-WIC 2025 Highlights Bold Strategies For Scaling Change Through Investment

The second day of the Sharjah Investment Forum–World Investment Conference (SIF–WIC 2025) highlighted a discussion titled "Scaling Change Through Investment." This session examined how strategic leadership, capital, and storytelling are reshaping global entrepreneurship. The conversation featured Amira Sajwani from DAMAC Properties and John Aguilar from The Final Pitch, moderated by Inzamam Rashid of Monocle.

Sajwani, who leads DAMAC Properties, emphasised the importance of innovation and adaptability in business growth. She stated, "It’s important to build on a strong foundation while taking your business to the next level." She also noted that innovation enhances legacy rather than replacing it. DAMAC's strategy includes partnerships that resonate both globally and locally.

Competition is a driving force for innovation at DAMAC, according to Sajwani. She explained that delivering on promises and offering unique features has helped maintain their leadership position. Last year alone, they launched 28 projects with market-first features. This approach ensures they stay ahead in the real estate sector.

Discussing PRYPCO, Sajwani highlighted how proptech is revolutionising real estate by enhancing transparency and accessibility. "Digitalisation bridges the gap between legacy and the future," she said. The UAE is at the forefront of this transformation, leading with purpose and speed.

John Aguilar shared insights from his experience with The Final Pitch, which connects startups with investors across Asia. He stressed that an entrepreneur's mindset is as crucial as funding for success. "Transformation isn’t just about capital; it’s about helping founders grow into what they’re capable of achieving," he stated.

Aguilar further explained that storytelling plays a vital role in investment readiness. He remarked, "Storytelling is the new due diligence." A compelling narrative can help founders attract the right investors and align with international growth opportunities.

Sharjah's Global Influence

The dialogue underscored Sharjah's emerging status as a global hub for investment and innovation. It showcased the UAE’s leadership in promoting sustainable entrepreneurship and cross-border collaboration. The event was organised by the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah) alongside the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).

SIF–WIC 2025 attracted over 10,000 participants from 142 countries under the theme "Transforming Our World: Investing for a Resilient and Sustainable Future." This gathering highlighted Sharjah’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to investment and innovation on a global scale.
