SIDF Terminology Dictionary Launched In Collaboration With KSGAAL To Clarify Industrial Terms
The Saudi Industrial Development Fund has launched the "SIDF Terminology Dictionary", designed to clarify technical terms used in the fund’s work and align them with relevant systems and policies. The dictionary serves as an official reference for language used in finance, industry, and development within SIDF’s various activities.
This first edition contains more than 170 terms and definitions presented in both Arabic and English. It aims to support accurate use of language in specialist fields, while also making SIDF-related terminology easier to understand for internal teams, external partners, and others interested in the fund’s work.

The "SIDF Terminology Dictionary" covers several knowledge areas, including financial, industrial, advisory, legal, and broader knowledge-related disciplines. It also includes a dedicated section explaining abbreviations and presenting linguistic roots for selected Arabic terms, which supports the enrichment of Arabic technical content and increases its linguistic and knowledge-based value.
To make the scope of the publication clear, the dictionary presents terminology and definitions in a structured bilingual format. This layout allows readers to compare Arabic and English meanings directly, supporting clear understanding in multilingual work environments and aiding specialists who operate across both languages within industrial and financial sectors.
{TABLE_1}The project has been developed in collaboration with King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, which works on strengthening Arabic usage in modern fields. Through this partnership, SIDF aims to ensure that the dictionary’s content reflects sound linguistic standards while also meeting the practical needs of industrial and financial professionals.
The dictionary targets a wide audience that includes researchers, clients, partners, and professionals dealing with Saudi Industrial Development Fund. It is designed as a unified knowledge tool, helping to standardise terminology, support clear communication, and reduce ambiguity when discussing projects, contracts, advisory work, or industrial development programmes.
The launch coincides with World Arabic Language Day, underlining the importance of Arabic in expressing concepts of industry, knowledge, and development. By connecting the initiative with this international occasion, SIDF highlights the role of precise Arabic terminology in supporting economic activities and policy discussions in Saudi Arabia and beyond.
The publication also serves internal users at Saudi Industrial Development Fund by offering a single, reliable reference for terms used in documents, systems, and daily communication. This standardisation supports consistent language across departments and projects, and helps new employees and stakeholders understand SIDF-specific expressions more quickly and accurately.
The dictionary features an interactive design that lets users browse entries, move between sections, and search for terms in a straightforward way. It is available through the SIDF website, and the fund has stated that content will continue to be updated to reflect developments and changes within the industrial sector.
Saudi Industrial Development Fund plans to expand and revise the "SIDF Terminology Dictionary" over time, in line with emerging practices, regulatory updates, and sector transformations. This ongoing work is intended to keep the reference relevant for researchers, practitioners, and institutions that rely on accurate, shared terminology within Saudi Arabia’s industrial landscape.
