Shurooq Showcases Sustainable Travel Efforts At Arabian Travel Market

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is currently showcasing its array of projects at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Shurooq's presentation underscores its contribution to the sustainable travel sector through a diverse portfolio that includes ecotourism destinations and luxury hospitality assets. This initiative not only opens new avenues for conscious travellers but also supports small businesses, steering the travel industry towards a sustainable future.

Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq, shared insights on the significance of their participation in this year's ATM. He emphasized that the theme of sustainability aligns with Shurooq's dedication to fostering sustainable investments within the travel sector. "Our projects are not just about creating opportunities for travel and tourism providers and consumers; they are about doing so in a manner that promotes sustainability," Al Qaseer remarked. He further highlighted strategic projects like Mleiha National Park, Heart of Sharjah, and LUX* Al Bridi Resort as key contributors to preserving cultural and environmental heritage while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 'Sharjah showcase', led by the Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority, featured Shurooq's stand, which employed state-of-the-art storytelling and multimedia technologies. This setup provided visitors with an immersive experience of its sustainable, ecotourism, and luxury hospitality offerings. The stand was organized into exclusive zones designed to facilitate dialogue, networking, and industry exchange, highlighting Shurooq's commitment to advancing sustainable tourism practices.
