Shura Council Targets Enhancements In Hajj Services And National Development
The Shura Council held its forty-fourth ordinary session of the fourth year of the eighth session yesterday, led by Deputy Chairman Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami. The agenda was reviewed, and decisions were made on various items.
The Shura Council urged the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to collaborate with relevant authorities to expand care centres for pilgrims at arrival ports. They stressed the need to allocate necessary locations for these centres and enhance indicators for measuring pilgrims' satisfaction with services provided. Additionally, an extra recommendation was adopted within this decision, presented by Council member Dr. Abdullah Al-Wagdani.

In sports, the Council advised the Ministry of Sports to work with the Ministry of Education to invest in model school playgrounds and halls for hosting sports competitions. Mahd Sports Academy was also urged to increase training centres in schools to provide better access to sports talent.
Improving Health Services
Regarding health affairs, the Council called on King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital to increase the number of clinics, operating rooms, and patient inpatient rooms in proportion to the rise in visitor numbers.
Strategic Partnerships for Performance Measurement
The Shura Council urged the National Center for Performance Measurement (ADAA) to form strategic partnerships with private or government universities. These partnerships aim to develop qualification and training programs tailored to ADAA's needs in preparing specialized competencies.
Economic Data Sharing Policy
On an economic note, the Shura Council requested the National Center for Government Resource Systems, in coordination with relevant authorities, to update the data-sharing policy study concerning basic data and determine its owners.
Innovative Academic Programs
In education, Al-Baha University was called upon by the Shura Council to focus on developing specialized and innovative academic programs in tourism and agriculture. The University of Hail was also urged to diversify its investments to enhance revenues and achieve financial efficiency and sustainability.
Advanced Geospatial Technologies
The Shura Council called on the General Authority for Survey and Geospatial Information (GASGI) to coordinate with relevant authorities. This coordination aims at acquiring advanced technologies for obtaining satellite images and geospatial data with high accuracy quickly. The importance of enhancing innovation and knowledge building among GASGI employees regarding geospatial capabilities was also emphasized.
The session concluded with a comprehensive review of all agenda items, ensuring that each decision aligns with national priorities and goals.
