Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Award Reveals Shortlist For Ninth Edition Celebrating Female Athletes
The Fatima bint Mubarak Women Sports Award has revealed its final list of nominees for the ninth edition. This event, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, aims to recognise outstanding achievements in women's sports. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, where winners across various categories will be celebrated.
Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan supports the award as Chairwoman of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Ladies Clubs. The Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy organise this prestigious event.

The award's mission is to empower women in sports by recognising their yearly accomplishments. It also promotes excellence and competitiveness among female athletes. The initiative seeks to create a supportive environment that encourages women to enhance their performance levels.
This year's nomination period concluded recently, with entries from both local and international candidates. The committee extended the deadline to ensure all interested parties could participate, following the official opening on April 28.
The total prize pool for this edition stands at AED2 million, divided among eight individual and team categories. These include Best Arab Sportswoman, Best Emirati Sportswoman, Best Emerging Sportswoman, Best Paralympic Sportswoman, Best Coach (Male or Female), Best Sports Media Influencer, and Best Sportsmother.
A Special Recognition Award will honour an Arab Sports Personality who has significantly contributed to women's sports over the past year. Additionally, there is a category for the Best Team Award.
Finalists Announced
The shortlist for Best Sports Media Influencer includes Hadiya Mohamed Al Saeed from Egypt, Sarah Fahmy Othman from Yemen, and Maha Yousef Al Khalifa from Saudi Arabia. In the Best Sports Mother category, nominees are Fatima Hamad Al Muhairi and Maryam Hassan Al Marzouqi from UAE, alongside Hind Ibrahim Al Sindi from Bahrain.
For Best Arab Women Athlete, contenders are Sarah Abdulrahman Al Hawal from Kuwait, Marwa Omar Bouzayani from Tunisia, and Farida Mohamed Ahmed from Egypt. The Best Female/Male Coach category features Nihal Saad Eldin Mohamed from Egypt, Nihal Reda Mohamed from Tunisia, and Soraya Haddad from Algeria.
Recognising Young Talent
In the Best Youth Athlete category are Dalila Mohamed Saeed from Egypt and Mona Faisal Al Shar’a along with Mazoon Issa Hussein from UAE. For Best Emirati Women Athlete, Amina Yousef Al Awadhi competes against Amina Mohamed Al Lougany and Salma Haitham Al Marri.
The nominees for the Best Team Award include Sharjah Women’s Sports Club (UAE) along with its Athletics Team and Taekwondo Team. These teams have shown exceptional performance in their respective fields.
This event continues to highlight significant contributions to women's sports while encouraging future achievements within this domain.
