Navigational Misjudgment Causes Ship Collision Off UAE Coast: Ministry Of Energy Reports

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has revealed that a navigational error led to a collision between two ships in the Sea of Oman. This incident occurred about 24 nautical miles from the UAE coast. The collision involved an oil tanker, ADALYNN, registered under Antigua and Barbuda, and a cargo ship, Front Eagle, flying Liberia's flag.

At 1:30 am on Tuesday, 17th June 2025, authorities received reports of the accident. The mishap resulted in minor damage to both ships' outer hulls and caused a small oil spill. Additionally, a fire ignited in one ship's fuel tank but was quickly extinguished by responding teams. Fortunately, no crew members from either vessel sustained injuries.

A technical investigation is currently being conducted with international bodies to ensure transparency and adherence to global maritime standards.
