460 Citizens Benefit From AED 350 Million Housing Aid By Sheikh Zayed Programme

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, in collaboration with the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, recently announced the approval of 460 housing aids for citizens, with a total investment of approximately AED350 million. This initiative, launched in the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan, aims to provide substantial support through grants, loans, and government housing to eligible UAE citizens.

Under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ministry has sanctioned housing grants for 188 citizens, amounting to AED128.5 million. This move is part of a broader initiative announced in June 2022, which pledged AED2.3 billion towards clearing all pending housing grant applications from previous years.

In a significant push towards achieving the goals set out in the housing policy action plan for 2024, 250 citizens are set to benefit from housing loans facilitated through partnerships with banks and financial institutions, totalling AED197.5 million. The plan aims to make 3,000 decisions by the end of the current year. Additionally, 22 decisions have been made regarding housing assistance that combines both loans and government housing grants.

Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasized that this new package of housing aid is a testament to the ministry's dedication to improving the stability and quality of life for UAE citizens. This initiative aligns with the leadership's vision to ensure a dignified and stable existence for all citizens and is part of ongoing efforts to bolster social welfare.

"We aim to enhance housing leadership through integrated national strategies aimed at developing the housing sector across the country, serving citizens and maintaining the sustainability of stability and prosperity. We have clear plans for the next 50 years, focused on facilitating human life and enhancing quality of life," Al Mazrouei stated.

Mohamed Al Mansouri, Director-General of Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, highlighted the programme's commitment to fairness and transparency in evaluating applications and allocating grants. The programme employs objective criteria to ensure that assistance is distributed equitably among eligible applicants.

This comprehensive approach to housing aid reflects a significant investment in the well-being of UAE citizens. By providing financial assistance through grants and loans, as well as offering government housing options, the initiative aims to secure a more stable and prosperous future for families across the nation.

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure's collaboration with financial institutions and its strategic planning underscore a robust framework designed to meet the housing needs of UAE citizens efficiently. Through these efforts, the ministry demonstrates its ongoing commitment to enhancing living standards and supporting sustainable development within the community.
