The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Solo, Indonesia, has been a hub of activity since the start of Ramadan. Hosting between 12,000 and 15,000 visitors daily, the mosque is part of the "Iftar Project" initiative. This project aims to distribute around 400,000 meals throughout Ramadan, reflecting the values of solidarity and generosity championed by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Director-General of the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, emphasised that the foundation remains committed to promoting tolerance and generosity. "The foundation continues its commitment to these humanitarian values in the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan," he stated. To ensure a welcoming environment for guests, four large tents have been set up at different locations within the mosque's premises. These tents are managed by over 120 volunteers from Solo's community and university students. Their involvement embodies principles of generosity and social cooperation during this holy month.

The mosque also organises various activities to celebrate Ramadan and uphold religious traditions. These include religious lectures, Islamic studies sessions, daily Quran recitations, and the "Mazameer Al-QuraN'' Competition for best Quranic recitation. Additionally, educational sessions on classical Islamic texts are held alongside specialised training courses in vital fields.

Al Falahi highlighted the importance of partnerships established by the Zayed Foundation in supporting projects at the mosque in Solo. He noted that these collaborations aim to strengthen strategic partnerships with humanitarian organisations both locally and globally. The focus remains on fostering noble values and enhancing cooperation for communities worldwide.

Dr. Sultan Al-Rumaithi, CEO of Sheikh Zayed Mosque and Centre in Solo, Indonesia, shared insights into how these activities aim to make Ramadan special. He stated that they help strengthen bonds between Emirati and Indonesian peoples through shared cultural experiences during this significant time.

The mosque also celebrates Zayed Humanitarian Day on the 19th of Ramadan as part of its diverse programme lineup. This day honours Sheikh Zayed's legacy by promoting acts of kindness and community service among visitors attending events at this iconic location.
