Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Sees 82,053 Visitors During Eid Al Etihad Holiday In 2024
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi saw a notable increase in visitors during the 53rd Eid Al Etihad holiday. A total of 82,053 people visited, reflecting a 7% rise from the previous year. The busiest day was Sunday, December 1, 2024, when 23,932 individuals explored the mosque.
Visitors enjoyed a comprehensive experience at the mosque and its facilities. The "Path of Tolerance" offered insights into the values of tolerance promoted by the mosque since its inception. Additionally, guests could explore the "Al Jami Library," which houses rare Islamic books and manuscripts.

The centre enriched visitors' experiences with cultural tours conducted in Arabic and English. These tours highlighted the significance of Eid Al Etihad for UAE residents. The "Hidden Gems of the Mosque" tour provided an exceptional cultural day using electric vehicles designed for families.
Guests had the chance to explore "Souq Al Jami" and enjoy outdoor kiosks with views of the stunning mosque. This destination caters to families, offering over 50 commercial units including restaurants, shops, kiosks, retail outlets, and entertainment areas.
During their visit, people learned about Islamic architecture showcased within the mosque. They also gained insight into its cultural mission inspired by UAE's leadership promoting tolerance and coexistence among diverse cultures worldwide.
Innovative Virtual Tours
The centre introduced "El-Delleel," a multimedia device offering virtual cultural tours using augmented reality technology. Available in 14 languages, this service caters to different age groups globally. Nighttime cultural tours (Sarai) were also available outside regular hours.
