Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre In Indonesia Launches Eid Al-Adha Joy Project For Local Community

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in Solo, Indonesia, has launched the "Eid Al-Adha Joy Project" with support from the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation (ZayedCHF). This initiative provided sacrificial meat and Eid clothing to disadvantaged community members in Solo. Approximately 40,000 individuals, or 7,900 families, benefited from nearly 16 tons of distributed sacrificial meat.

A two-day "shopping bazaar" was organised as part of the Eid clothing initiative. This event offered a variety of clothing items for different groups in need. Local shops and tailoring houses collaborated to provide Eid outfits for thousands of children, families, and orphans. Beneficiaries received shopping vouchers to select clothing that suited their preferences.

In conjunction with these efforts, an Eid Al-Adha festival took place for the local community in Solo. The festival featured performing troupes, competitions, and children's games. It is anticipated that over 40,000 visitors attended during the Eid days. Traditional Indonesian sweets were also distributed with the help of local home-based producers.

Dr. Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Director General of ZayedCHF, highlighted that the project aims to alleviate burdens on some Indonesian families and bring joy during this blessed occasion. He stated that this aligns with the foundation’s mission inspired by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's values to spread happiness and reflect UAE's humanitarian spirit.

Dr. Sultan Al Rumaithi, CEO of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre in Solo, noted significant social and volunteer involvement in the project. The aim was to revive Eid's festive spirit and spread joy among deserving families—particularly widows, orphans, people of determination, and boarding school students.

The project witnessed extensive community participation alongside volunteers who helped ensure its success. The initiative reflects the UAE's commitment to social solidarity and generosity under its wise leadership.
