Sheikh Zayed Festival To Celebrate New Year’s Eve 2026 With Record-Breaking Fireworks And Drone Show

Al Wathba is gearing up for a grand New Year’s Eve event, promising one of the UAE's largest celebrations. The Higher Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Festival has crafted an extraordinary program featuring a 62-minute fireworks display, the world's largest drone show, and diverse cultural events. This celebration underscores the festival's role as a hub for culture, entertainment, and community engagement.

The festival aims to set five new Guinness World Records with its landmark fireworks display. The show will unfold in five stages, starting at 8 pm and culminating at midnight with a continuous 62-minute spectacle. Advanced synchronization and launch technologies will create a stunning visual experience over Al Wathba's skyline.

A groundbreaking drone performance will feature 6,500 drones in a single 20-minute sortie. This includes nine giant aerial formations presented globally for the first time. The drones will synchronize with a digital countdown and integrate with the fireworks display, offering an immersive experience showcasing innovative entertainment technologies.

This year’s program sees strong involvement from official sponsors and strategic partners. Each contributes unique elements within their dedicated spaces across the festival grounds. Contributions include interactive cultural activations by government partners highlighting Emirati heritage and identity.

Beyond aerial shows, traditional Emirati performances like Al Ayala, Al Razfa, and Al Nadooba will feature hundreds of performers. International performance groups will also participate, drawing wide public interest. Participating countries will present carnival-style parades, musical shows, and cultural demonstrations throughout the evening.

The festival offers family-friendly programming with children’s shows on the Kids’ Theatre and activities in Wonderland entertainment city. Opened in December 2025, Wonderland is a key attraction for families during New Year festivities.

Operational Preparations

The Higher Committee announced expanded preparations to accommodate large crowds. These include more entry and exit gates, wider pedestrian paths, enhanced safety services, and specialized field teams for smooth visitor movement. Entry will close once full capacity is reached to ensure safety.
