Sheikh Zayed Festival 2025–2026: Sultan Bin Hamdan Reviews Final Preparations In Al Wathba
The Sheikh Zayed Festival is set to commence its 2025–2026 season from November 1, 2025, to March 22, 2026, at Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi. Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, preparations are complete. The festival promises a rich cultural experience for visitors.
Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan recently inspected the festival site to ensure readiness for the opening. Accompanied by Humaid bin Saeed Al Neyadi and other officials, he reviewed contributions from various organisations. These efforts aim to enhance the festival's success through diverse pavilions and interactive programs.
This year's edition introduces new activities and programs, reinforcing its status as a global cultural hub. The festival will host thousands of cultural, heritage, and artistic events appealing to all age groups. Visitors can engage with authentic Emirati heritage alongside international cultures showcased in expanded pavilions.
Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi highlighted that the festival is a significant global event. It offers intercultural exchange opportunities with new additions enriching visitor experiences. The festival's unique identity is reflected in annual events like the Union Parade and Heritage Village, which showcase traditional Emirati life.
The UAE’s 54th National Day will be celebrated with cultural activities reflecting the nation's journey. New Year’s Eve will feature grand fireworks and drone shows. Weekly fireworks every Saturday evening and concerts by renowned Arab and international artists will add to the festive atmosphere.
New attractions include Al Wathba Winterland Amusement Park with family rides like roller coasters and a haunted house. Al Wathba Boulevard offers local, Arab, and international dining options. Courtyard Al Wathba presents global cuisines while new activities like bowling and ice-skating are introduced.
Special Events During Ramadan
During Ramadan, special events such as cultural activities, traditional markets, and Eid Al-Fitr celebrations will take place. Enhancements in the Animal Wonders Zone provide educational yet entertaining experiences for all ages. Over 22 countries will participate in international pavilions with several joining for the first time.
Hamid Saeed Al Niyadi expressed gratitude to UAE leadership for their support, noting increased participation from countries worldwide this year. He emphasised that visitors of all ages can enjoy diverse experiences through an extensive program of events suitable for families.
The festival embodies the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan by preserving UAE's national identity and cultural heritage. It offers numerous services ensuring a smooth visitor experience across its venues, providing a truly global cultural atmosphere.
