Sheikh Zayed Festival 2025–2026 Opens To Over 30,000 Visitors In Abu Dhabi

The Sheikh Zayed Festival 2025–2026 commenced in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, drawing a diverse crowd of visitors. On its opening day, over 30,000 people attended, enjoying a lively mix of entertainment, education, and culture. The festival grounds featured interactive displays and artistic lighting, providing an exceptional experience that merged Emirati tradition with global creativity.

The festival's main plazas were vibrant with live performances from local and international folklore groups. These performances added a traditional flair that captured the festival's spirit and highlighted its cultural diversity. Various stages hosted entertainment and cultural shows that engaged audiences of all ages, marking a successful start to this year's festival season.

This year introduces several new attractions aimed at enhancing the visitor experience. A standout addition is "Al Wathba Winterland," offering a comprehensive entertainment environment for all ages. The park includes family rides, thrill adventures, a roller coaster, haunted house, bowling alleys for both adults and children, an ice-skating rink, and a dinosaur park.

Al Wathba Boulevard emerges as a modern destination featuring international restaurants and cafés alongside Emirati entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, Nawader Sanctuary provides an educational and recreational experience by showcasing rare animal species from various environments. This blend of offerings ensures there is something for everyone at the festival.

The International Pavilions have expanded participation this year with new countries joining to present cultural showcases. These pavilions reflect each country's heritage through art and handicrafts, creating a vibrant global scene that celebrates cultural diversity and exchange. This expansion enriches the festival's offerings and enhances its global appeal.

The sky above Al Wathba was illuminated with spectacular fireworks and drone shows during the opening night. These dazzling displays filled the night with colour and intricate patterns, setting a memorable tone for what is considered one of the UAE’s most significant cultural events.
