Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Applauds UOS Alumni at Annual Ceremony
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (UOS), graced the annual ceremony of the UOS Alumni Association 2024 with his presence. The event, celebrated under the theme "Our Graduates, Our Pride," took place in the outdoor area of the student colleges. A significant highlight was Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed's inauguration of the Media Club for graduates, marking a new chapter for the Alumni Association, where he was also awarded honorary membership.
The ceremony commenced with a visual presentation that showcased the Alumni Association's accomplishments. Various officials from the association discussed its strategy, objectives, and the digital transformation in its communication efforts with members both domestically and internationally. Dr. Hanadi Obaid Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of the University of Sharjah Alumni Association, underscored the significance of the annual gathering in fostering a sense of community and shared history among over 45,000 graduates.

Dr. Al Suwaidi elaborated on the Executive Committee's achievements, including the expansion of activities and establishment of new branches in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Oman. This growth reflects the association's broadening influence from Sharjah to the wider Arab world. She also highlighted initiatives aimed at supporting new graduates through specialized workshops to prepare them for professional life.
On the occasion of launching the Media Club for graduates, Dr. Nawal Asker Al Naqbi, Director of the club, spoke about its objectives. Coordinated with the College of Communication at the university, the club aims to foster connections among graduates and enhance media practice skills through a platform for exchanging experiences and opportunities. Dr. Al Naqbi emphasized the club's commitment to ongoing learning and skill enhancement.
The event concluded with a dinner attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed and graduates, celebrating their collective achievements and looking forward to future contributions to their communities and beyond.
