Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Honours Winners Of Gulf Arabic Language Competitions
The fifth edition of the Gulf Arabic Language Competitions concluded with a ceremony graced by the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah. The event commenced with the UAE national anthem and recitations from the Holy Quran, setting a solemn and respectful tone for the evening.
Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hamadi, Director of the Educational Center for Gulf Arabic Language in Sharjah, shared his enthusiasm for the robust participation from member states of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States. He hailed Sharjah as a pivotal center for knowledge and culture, particularly in fostering the Arabic language. Dr. Al Hamadi extended his gratitude towards His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his unwavering support and pride in the Arabic language, which was evident in his decision to bestow upon the competition its significant title, Gulf Arabic Language Competitions.

The competition, described as a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Arab world by Dr. Al Hamadi, saw participation from 16 students across the Arab Gulf countries. It aimed to promote and serve the Arabic language while showcasing its creative talents. Awards were presented to the winning participants in recognition of their achievements.
Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Asimi, Director General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, underscored the event's importance in showcasing cultures and bolstering national and Arab identity. He highlighted the critical role of the Arabic language in Gulf societies due to its religious, cultural, and civilizational significance.
The establishment of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language in the Gulf States has been instrumental in emphasizing the value of Arabic and encouraging its learning among younger generations. The center's initiatives, including the Arabic Language Competitions, aim to raise awareness and foster linguistic creativity among students.
During the ceremony, champions expressed their gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his significant support towards promoting the Arabic language. They also acknowledged the efforts of those responsible for organizing the competition, which fosters a sense of loyalty and belonging to their linguistic heritage.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed honored members of the scientific committee and delegations from ministries of education across Arab Gulf countries, alongside awarding champions of the competitions. The ceremony was attended by senior officials and representatives from participating countries and students, culminating in a group photo session with winners.
