Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Reviews AED 1.4 Billion Housing Project For Emirati Families In Dubai
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, recently assessed the progress of a significant housing project in Dubai's Wadi Al Amardi area. This initiative, named after the late Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, involves constructing 672 villas at a cost of AED1.4 billion. The project also includes endowment markets, a mosque, a public park, and various service facilities tailored for Emirati families.
The residential development is under the direct supervision of H.H. Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed. It forms part of the Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Programme, which aims to enhance family stability and cohesion while promoting community values and improving quality of life for Emirati families in Dubai.
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted that such residential projects reflect Dubai's commitment to elevating infrastructure standards in emerging neighbourhoods. He stated, "Our objective is to ensure that every citizen enjoys a fully integrated environment that promotes stability and comfort while providing access to the highest standards of living and well-being." The project is seen as a model of excellence due to its adherence to high-quality standards.
The housing project aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, aiming to make Dubai the best city for living experiences and housing services. It supports the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan by focusing on sustainable development and enhancing quality of life through optimal land use and diverse housing options.
The project will be completed in four phases: Phase one includes 124 homes set for completion in 2026; phase two features 208 homes expected by 2027; phase three comprises 199 homes scheduled for 2029; and phase four includes 141 homes with completion anticipated in 2032. This phased approach ensures systematic development while meeting future housing needs.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the project's plan developed by his engineering office. The design incorporates green spaces, seamless internal access, and essential amenities like a mosque named after Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, endowment markets for economic sustainability, a public park with recreational areas for families and children, and villas optimised for Emirati families.
Commitment to Urban Development
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed reiterated Dubai's dedication to major urban projects that provide ideal housing solutions while fostering family and social stability. He noted that these initiatives inspire productivity and innovation, contributing to Dubai's ongoing development and enhancing its global reputation.
The new residential project not only offers modern housing but also comprehensive service facilities catering to diverse needs. It exemplifies how urban planning can support work-life balance by creating stimulating social environments conducive to family well-being.
This initiative underscores Dubai's efforts to ensure citizens have access to comfortable living conditions within integrated communities. By focusing on sustainable development and quality living standards, the project aims to position Dubai as a leading city in providing exceptional housing services.
