UAE's Ishraqat Festival: A Beacon Of Knowledge And Tolerance, Says Sheikh Nahyan
In a significant move that underscores the United Arab Emirates' commitment to fostering an environment of tolerance and coexistence, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, has announced the launch of the third edition of the Ishraqat Festival. This global knowledge festival, set to take place from 1st to 3rd May, aligns with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to prioritize knowledge as a cornerstone for development across all sectors.
Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the festival's role as a transformative project that not only promotes tolerance and coexistence but also serves as a platform for content creators and experts from around the world to share their insights. The Ishraqat Festival, which will be held in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair at ADNEC, aims to draw participants from over 14 Arab and foreign countries, featuring more than 80 international thinkers and creators.

The festival's rich agenda includes over 50 local and international programmes and sessions, with discussions spanning across five languages. This year's theme, "Tolerance is Knowledge," reflects the festival's objective to explore the various creative, educational, artistic, and cognitive dimensions of tolerance. Sheikh Nahyan's inspection of the preparations for the upcoming event underscores the UAE's dedication to establishing itself as a hub for cultural exchange and intellectual dialogue.
With an impressive lineup of 80 Emirati and international writers and intellectuals, the Ishraqat Festival promises to be a vibrant confluence of ideas and cultures. Participants from 14 different countries will engage in sessions designed to illuminate the myriad ways in which knowledge can serve as a foundation for tolerance and coexistence in today's interconnected world.
This initiative by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence is a testament to the UAE's wise leadership's commitment to leveraging knowledge as a driving force for societal progress. By bringing together diverse voices from across the globe, the Ishraqat Festival aims to foster a deeper understanding of tolerance as an essential value in our increasingly global society.
