UAE’s Sheikh Mohammed Launches AED 1 Billion Mothers’ Endowment Campaign For Education
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has recently initiated the Mothers' Endowment campaign in the UAE. This significant campaign is designed to pay tribute to mothers by creating an endowment fund worth AED 1 billion. The primary goal of this fund is to bolster education on a global scale, particularly focusing on aiding individuals in underprivileged communities. This initiative not only aims to improve living standards but also seeks to empower people to join the workforce, thereby fostering stability and development within these communities.
The campaign encourages people to contribute in the names of their mothers, thereby promoting values such as respect for parents, kindness, and community solidarity. It also underscores the pivotal role played by UAE mothers in nurturing their families and supporting their children's educational endeavors. Through this campaign, the UAE reaffirms its commitment to charity and humanitarian efforts.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid highlighted that the Mothers' Endowment campaign represents a perpetual charity in honor of all UAE mothers. He urged everyone to participate in this endowment, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, to bring joy to their mothers. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Secretary-General of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), stated that this campaign mirrors Sheikh Mohammed's vision of sustainable giving and aiding vulnerable populations worldwide. The initiative aims at providing education and basic necessities to deprived communities, ensuring they have a safe environment to live, work, and learn.
This ambitious campaign is set to support the education of millions globally, in collaboration with various humanitarian organizations. It focuses on enhancing stability and welfare in underprivileged areas by equipping individuals with essential tools and skills for a self-reliant and respectable life.
The Mothers' Endowment campaign is part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, which is recognized as the largest foundation for humanitarian and development work in the region. This initiative builds upon the success of previous Ramadan campaigns initiated by Sheikh Mohammed, including '10 Million Meals,' '100 Million Meals,' and '1 Billion Meals' campaigns that aimed at fostering social solidarity and addressing hunger.
Aligned with Islamic values and teachings, this campaign for educational support is a step towards enhancing social solidarity as part of a broader humanitarian movement. It reflects the UAE's leadership in humanitarian efforts and showcases the Emirati community's backing for all humanitarian initiatives.
Despite global strides towards achieving the UN's Sustainable Development Goal of quality education, challenges persist with millions of children and youths still lacking access to schooling. The Mothers' Endowment campaign seeks to mitigate this by offering education and skill-building opportunities to those in need.
Established in 2015, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives consolidates various initiatives under Sheikh Mohammed's sponsorship. Its mission is to advance education, combat poverty and illness, and promote tolerance and coexistence. The organization is dedicated to addressing urgent humanitarian and development challenges while investing in human capital.
