Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid's Tour At Gulfood 2024 Highlights UAE's Vision For Global Food Sector
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, recently made an appearance at the 29th edition of Gulfood 2024, the world's premier annual food and beverage (F&B) sourcing event. The event, which opened its doors at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), runs from the 19th to the 23rd of February and has attracted participation from 5,500 exhibitors and visitors from across 190 countries.
During his visit, Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the UAE's pivotal role in promoting knowledge exchange and fostering partnerships to drive excellence in crucial global sectors. He highlighted that events like Gulfood are integral to the UAE's strategy to enhance the efficiency of global supply chains and accelerate international collaboration in the food sector. This aligns with the nation's commitment to adopting innovative solutions for sustainable economic growth and human wellbeing.

Sheikh Mohammed also pointed out Dubai's strategic position as a hub for technology and innovation, its key role in global trade, and its high-quality infrastructure and connectivity. These factors make Dubai an essential player in bolstering global food security. The organization of Gulfood 2024 is in line with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), aiming to double Dubai’s GDP and position it among the world's top three urban economies.
The visit saw His Highness accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council; H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment; Helal Al Marri, Director-General of the DWTC Authority; along with other senior officials.
Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on a wide range of products, services, and technological advancements aimed at reducing costs, enhancing efficiency, decreasing food waste, and strengthening supply chains within the F&B industry. Additionally, he was informed about the Gulfood Inspire Conference, a key component of the event designed to further knowledge sharing and innovation in the sector.
