Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid's Tour At Art Dubai Emphasizes UAE's Cultural Vision

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, recently visited the 17th edition of Art Dubai at Madinat Jumeirah, running from 1-3 March. This event stands as a pivotal global platform for art and artists from the Middle East and the Global South. During his visit, His Highness expressed the UAE's dedication to fostering an environment conducive to the flourishing of artists and creative professionals worldwide.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the UAE's ethos of tolerance, openness, and inclusiveness. He noted that these values, coupled with a strong belief in the importance of creative expression, have cultivated a vibrant cultural environment in the UAE. Art Dubai features over 140 contemporary, modern, and digital gallery presentations from more than 60 cities across 40 countries. The event showcases newly commissioned works by top local, regional, and international artists, with over 65% representing the Global South.

Since its inception in 2007, Art Dubai has aimed to reflect Dubai’s diverse global communities and cultures. This year marks a significant increase in Dubai-based exhibitors, further contributing to the city’s cultural enrichment and its development as a leading global commercial art center.
