Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Lauds Dubai Ambulance Team's Global Standards

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, recently met with national ambulance professionals from the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS). The meeting, held at Al Mudeef Majlis in Union House, was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.

Sheikh Mohammed engaged with emergency doctors, paramedics, and advanced emergency medical technicians who graduated from the Emergency Medicine Programme conducted by the Dubai Government. He emphasised that national professionals are vital to the UAE's future and its competitiveness in key economic sectors. Their efforts are essential for sustainable development and economic growth benefits for citizens and society.

Dubai Ambulance Team Praised by Sheikh Mohammed

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed praised the DCAS team for their efficient handling of emergencies and adherence to global standards. He expressed pride in their role in developing the emergency medicine system and integrating international best practices. Their dedication supports Dubai's goal to provide advanced medical care and make the city one of the best places to live and work.

The DCAS team highlighted their commitment to achieving top health and ambulance care standards in line with Sheikh Mohammed's vision and Sheikh Hamdan's directives. They aim to deliver world-class services in the sector.

His Highness was briefed on DCAS initiatives to train and attract national talent. Currently, 102 national paramedics and advanced emergency medical technicians, along with five emergency doctors, hold specialised positions within the organisation. Mishal Abdulkarim Julfar, CEO of DCAS, informed His Highness about the organisation’s achievements in building an effective emergency medicine system.

Julfar is a graduate of both the first cohort of the Emergency Medicine Programme and the Dubai Leaders Programme launched by Sheikh Mohammed. The Corporation achieved third place in the 2023 Dubai Government Customer Happiness Index with a 96.1 percent satisfaction rate.

Operation Chivalrous Knight 2

Sheikh Mohammed also met Emirati professionals who contributed significantly to Operation Chivalrous Knight 2. This UAE aid initiative assisted victims of last year's devastating earthquake in Syria and Türkiye.

The Corporation has expanded its operations to meet Dubai’s growing population needs by increasing ambulance points across Dubai to 135. In 2023, DCAS responded to over 235,000 emergency call-outs with an average response time of 7.5 minutes—a 13 percent improvement from 2022 figures.

The meeting underscored DCAS's commitment to maintaining high standards in health services while supporting national talent development. These efforts align with Dubai's strategic objectives for healthcare excellence.
