UAE President's Visionary Humanitarian Work Garners Global Recognition

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been recognized as a global humanitarian leader for his unwavering support for people and nations in crisis. Through his charitable and humanitarian initiatives, he has fostered a culture of compassion and generosity, strengthening the UAE's position as a leading global donor.

The recent 'Global Humanitarian Personality' award bestowed upon His Highness by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) highlights his role and continued contributions to humanitarian relief efforts worldwide. This prestigious accolade solidifies his status as one of the most notable figures in the history of humanitarian work, according to WAM reports.

Under His Highness' guidance, the UAE has become renowned for its response to humanitarian crises, demonstrating boundless generosity regardless of geographical location, ethnicity, or religion. This was particularly evident during the-19 pandemic, where His Highness extended a helping hand near and far by providing medical supplies, establishing hospitals, and sending aid to 135 countries around the world.

The UAE's commitment to global healthcare extends beyond the pandemic. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has spearheaded efforts to combat neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) that affect over 1.6 billion people. The Reaching the Last Mile Fund (RLMF), launched by His Highness in 2017, has provided over 100 million treatments and trained 1.3 million healthcare workers in partnership with endemic countries.

Furthermore, the UAE has been instrumental in the fight against polio. Since 2014, the UAE has provided Pakistan with approximately 667.5 million doses of the polio vaccine, benefiting 17 million children. A partnership with the American XPRIZE foundation was announced to launch the XPRIZE Water Scarcity competition, encouraging innovators to submit sustainable solutions for water desalination.
