Sheikh Mansour Explores Industrial Innovation At Make It In The Emirates Forum
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, visited the third edition of the Make It in the Emirates Forum. The event is being held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre on May 27-28. Organised by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and ADNOC, the Forum gathers the largest industrial companies and enablers from across the UAE.
The Forum aims to share procurement plans and significant investment opportunities, translating these into local manufacturing investments. Companies prioritise locally made products and seek to engage with top-ranked local and international businesses interested in UAE-based manufacturing and production. His Highness Sheikh Mansour toured exhibitor pavilions at the accompanying exhibition, which features 300 UAE-made products from national and international companies.
The exhibitors are presenting advanced solutions designed to propel the industrial sector forward, solidify its position, bolster food security, and enhance the national economy. During their participation, 44 major companies are showcasing industrial opportunities and locally manufactured products, alongside their innovations and various solutions at industrial and technological levels.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour stated that the industrial sector is a main pillar of the national economy's progress and diversification. It is also a key contributor to the Emiratisation drive and empowers Emirati competencies to work in modern manufacturing and advanced technology fields. "Our nation's skilled workforce and companies are now vying for success on both regional and global stages," he said.
He highlighted that initiatives encompassing legislation, support structures, financial benefits, and advanced infrastructure provided by the State are instrumental in attracting investments and talented individuals from around the world. His Highness added that the Make it in the Emirates Forum is a platform to highlight national successes and development in industry and advanced technology.
The UAE seeks to upgrade priority industries, enhance self-sufficiency levels of vital products, raise levels of innovation, and adopt artificial intelligence applications to improve efficiency and competitiveness. "Empowered by our nation's exceptional talent and capabilities, we are confident in our ability to achieve national goals," Sheikh Mansour concluded.
The organisation of the Make it in the Emirates Forum aims to support the UAE’s industrial strategy named ‘Operation 300bn’. This aligns with the objectives of the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology to promote economic diversification and raise the industrial sector’s contribution to AED300 billion by 2031. The Forum also explores trends in innovation and AI under the national In-Country Value (ICV) programme.
Building on previous successful editions, this year's Make it in the Emirates Forum brings together a global audience of investors, manufacturers, industry experts, and innovators from both the UAE and abroad. A key focus is exploring how artificial intelligence can be integrated throughout the manufacturing process. Attendees can participate in dialogue sessions, panel discussions, and learn about new initiatives designed to empower the industrial sector.
