Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Highlights Innovation At Arabian Travel Market 2024
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, graced the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 with his presence, a premier event in the global travel and tourism sector, hosted at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 6-9 May. This visit highlighted the event's focus on 'Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship', showcasing 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries and emphasizing the role of visionary entrepreneurs in the aviation, hospitality, and entertainment industries.
Accompanied by Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), and Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), H.H. Sheikh Mansoor explored various pavilions. Notably, he visited the DET pavilion, which displayed the innovative tourism offerings from 129 partners and stakeholders. This pavilion also highlighted the significant impact of entrepreneurship and innovation on Dubai's tourism growth, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 goals.
During his tour, H.H. Sheikh Mansoor reviewed DET's successful strategies in promoting Dubai globally, which have led to a record-breaking 17.15 million international visitors in 2023, a 19.4% increase from the previous year. The first quarter of 2024 alone saw an impressive influx of 5.18 million visitors.
His Highness's visit to the Emirates pavilion provided insights into the airline's latest advancements in aviation and sustainability efforts across its operations. He also engaged with Dubai Police's pavilion to understand eight services dedicated to enhancing the tourism sector.
The tour extended to pavilions representing Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism, Etihad Airways, and the Emirate of Sharjah, reflecting the comprehensive nature of this year's ATM. Since its inception in 1994 with 300 exhibitors and 7,000 trade visitors, ATM has evolved into a globally recognized event that integrates all travel sectors and verticals. This year's edition marks its largest yet, with exhibitor participation up by 26%, indicating growth across all event verticals.
The Arabian Travel Market 2024 stands as a testament to the dynamic evolution of the travel and tourism industry, driven by innovation and entrepreneurship. With its largest edition to date, ATM continues to serve as a pivotal platform for showcasing global travel trends and opportunities, reinforcing Dubai's position as a leading international tourism hub.
