Sheikh Khaled Visits Council To Celebrate Emirati Children's Day, Emphasizes Child Welfare
In a significant event that underscores the United Arab Emirates' dedication to nurturing its future generations, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, made a notable visit to the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in Abu Dhabi. This visit, timed to coincide with Emirati Children’s Day on 15th March, highlighted the nation's ongoing commitment to enhancing the welfare of mothers and children.
During his visit, His Highness received detailed insights into the council's comprehensive efforts and initiatives aimed at bolstering support for motherhood and childcare. These initiatives are spearheaded under the guidance of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, a figure of paramount importance in these efforts, holding several key positions including Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.

The Crown Prince was briefed on various programmes designed to improve the wellbeing of mothers and children across multiple domains such as education, health, culture, society, and mental health. These programmes also focus on enhancing security and safety for this demographic, alongside evaluating development plans and conducting research to fortify the childcare and motherhood services ecosystem.
Furthermore, His Highness engaged with members of the Children’s Advisory Council, the Emirati Children's Parliament, and UNICEF's Youth Climate Ambassadors for COP28. This interaction underscored their exemplary role in demonstrating determination and leadership's investment in cultivating generations poised to sustain national progress.
His Highness emphasized the leadership’s vision of creating a secure and nurturing environment for children, recognizing their crucial role as the foundation of the nation's future. He remarked on the responsibility that children bear in advancing national achievements and realizing its ambitions.
The young members showcased their efforts in empowering children and developing national policies to protect mothers' and children's rights while enhancing their quality of life. They also highlighted collaborative efforts with various government and private entities to launch initiatives aimed at improving healthcare and education services for children.
At the conclusion of his tour, His Highness lauded the council's accomplishments, attributing them to the unwavering support from the country’s leadership and H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s commitment to ensuring care for mothers and children aligned with traditional values.
Accompanying His Highness were Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development; Sara Awadh Issa Musallam, Minister of State for Early Education; and Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council. Al Reem bint Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, reiterated that under H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak’s directives, the council collaborates with cross-sector partners to lead in protecting children's rights. The council is committed to raising awareness about healthcare, early childhood education, psychological and social development while applying best practices and developing new policies to address future challenges.
Al Falasi confirmed that the council operates with a clear strategic vision aimed at safeguarding mothers' and children's rights, unifying efforts to provide top-notch services that ensure a safe and stimulating environment for children's growth and development, thereby building a society that cares for its youngest members.
