Sheikh Abdullah Recognises Outstanding Contributions At Foreign Affairs Excellence Award Ceremony

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, honoured 34 winners of the 5th Minister of Foreign Affairs Excellence Award during a ceremony held on Tuesday evening at the ministry's headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The event was attended by several high-ranking officials and representatives from foreign missions accredited to the UAE.

The ceremony saw the presence of Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of State; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs. Several officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) were also in attendance.

Eighteen accredited foreign missions and nine departments within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were awarded in the main category. These awards recognise their significant contributions to advancing the ministry's vision and objectives. The awarded entities have demonstrated innovation, adaptability, and forward-thinking in their operations.

Additionally, seven ministry employees received medals for their notable contributions. These individuals were recognised for fostering a sense of initiative and accountability within the ministry. Their efforts have been instrumental in promoting efficiency and creativity in government and diplomatic work.

Sheikh Abdullah's Remarks

Speaking at the event, Sheikh Abdullah emphasised that institutional excellence is a sustainable strategic approach rather than just a goal. He highlighted that this approach reflects the UAE's vision to achieve the highest standards in all areas of government and diplomatic work. His Highness congratulated all the winners and praised their pioneering initiatives and creative ideas.

Award's History

The first edition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Excellence Award was launched in 2014. It was the first excellence award to be internally applied in ministries at both federal and regional levels. The award aims to develop the institutional and functional performance of MoFA, enabling it to provide excellent services to its customers and beneficiaries.

Future Participation

The award winners will participate in the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award as part of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme. This participation underscores their commitment to maintaining high standards of excellence and innovation in their respective fields.
