Sharjah And Tunis Chambers Forge New Paths In Exhibition Sector Cooperation

A delegation from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) concluded a productive visit to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tunis (CCIT) and various economic institutions in Tunisia. The visit aimed to enhance collaboration in key economic sectors and strengthen ties between private sector entities in both nations.

The delegation, which included Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Jamal Saeed Bouzanjal, and Sultan Abdullah Al Ali, met with Mohamed Monsif Ben Jomaa, President of CCIT, among other officials. Discussions centred on improving bilateral cooperation through the exchange of economic data, investment opportunities, and event agendas.

Boosting Sharjah-Tunis Exhibition Ties

During their visit, the delegation also engaged with Tarek Cherif, President of the Tunisian Confederation of Citizen Enterprises (CONECT). They shared insights on supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), aiming to foster best practices in these areas.

The Sharjah Chamber delegation toured several real estate development companies in Tunisia. They were introduced to environmentally friendly projects that meet high sustainability standards. This tour was part of their efforts to explore potential collaborations in the real estate sector.

The delegation extended an invitation to Tunisian companies to participate in the upcoming edition of the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition "ACRES". This event is scheduled for early 2025 at Expo Center Sharjah.

Strengthening Bilateral Trade

Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan highlighted SCCI's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Tunisian counterparts across various industrial and commercial levels. He noted significant opportunities for boosting bilateral trade and economic relations through delegations, trade missions, economic forums, and exhibitions.

Al Jarwan emphasised that exhibitions play a crucial role in attracting investments, facilitating deals, and exchanging experiences between companies. These efforts are expected to significantly enhance cooperation between business communities in both countries.

Support from UAE Ambassador

Her Excellency Dr. Eman Al Salami, Ambassador of the UAE to Tunisia, welcomed the SCCI delegation during their visit. She was briefed on the objectives and outcomes of the visit and its importance in fostering economic cooperation between the two nations.

The discussions also covered how these efforts could expand collaboration opportunities between business communities in Sharjah and Tunisia. The ambassador expressed her support for initiatives that promote mutual economic growth.

The visit underscored SCCI's dedication to strengthening ties with Tunisia through various initiatives aimed at enhancing industrial and commercial cooperation. Both sides are optimistic about future collaborations that will benefit their respective economies.
