Sharjah Ruler Establishes Supplementary Grant For Low-Income Retirees To Enhance Financial Support

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has announced a new financial initiative for retirees in Sharjah. This decree introduces a supplementary grant aimed at boosting the monthly income of eligible retirees to AED 17,500. This support is available to those whose pensions fall below this threshold and who do not receive any other income exceeding this amount.

The grant targets retirees from federal entities, other emirate governments, or the private sector registered in Sharjah. To qualify, their pension must be less than AED 17,500 per month. Payments will commence from the date the application is submitted. The Department of Human Resources will manage the application process, ensuring that all necessary documents are collected and reviewed.

Sharjah's New Grant for Low-Income Retirees

A "Supplementary Grant Committee for Retirees" has been established to oversee this initiative. Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Head of the Department of Human Resources, will chair this committee. Other members include Dr. Mansour Mohammed bin Nassar, Walid Ibrahim Al Sayegh, Mohammed Obaid Al Shamsi, and Noura Mohammed Al Nuaimi as the Committee Rapporteur.

The committee's responsibilities include defining documentation requirements and procedures for applying for the grant. They will also ensure that applications are processed efficiently and that eligibility criteria are met.

Role of the Department of Human Resources

The Department of Human Resources will play a crucial role in managing applications. They will annually update beneficiary data and verify eligibility to ensure compliance with the decree's requirements. Additionally, they will prepare lists of eligible retirees and conduct regular audits to maintain accuracy.

Disbursement by Sharjah Social Security Fund

The Sharjah Social Security Fund is tasked with handling the monthly disbursements of the supplementary grant. This ensures that eligible retirees receive their financial support promptly each month.

This initiative reflects a commitment to supporting retirees in Sharjah by providing them with a stable monthly income. It aims to enhance their financial security through structured oversight and efficient management processes.
