Sharjah Summer Scout Camp Focuses On Nurturing Young Leaders Through Diverse Activities
The 2025 Summer Recreational Scout Camp has commenced at the Sharjah Scout Commission headquarters, drawing a significant number of Cubs and Brownies aged 7 to 12. This annual event is overseen by Nasser Obaid Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Commission's Board of Directors and International Commissioner, with Major General Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi supervising activities. The camp aims to utilise the summer break to enhance young people's skills in a safe and educational setting.
This year's programme stands out for its diverse offerings, integrating scouting, sports, arts, and education. Activities are scheduled over four daily periods from 4:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., ensuring variety and engagement. Participants can enjoy football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and other recreational games. Additionally, there are specialised scouting workshops alongside art sessions focusing on arts education and handicrafts.

Educational workshops cover topics like the environment, cars, and astronomy. These are led by educational scouting leaders and specialised trainers in collaboration with the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA). The programme is tailored to suit the age group’s characteristics, promoting cooperation, discipline, and responsibility through group activities.
The camp provides opportunities for participants to explore their artistic and athletic talents while developing life skills. The Commission ensures daily performance evaluations of both participants and leaders through detailed plans and field monitoring. This approach helps achieve the camp's educational goals effectively.
Major General Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi emphasised that the Scout Summer Camp reflects the Commission's vision of fostering an ideal environment for children's holistic development. He noted that the programme aims to instil authentic scouting principles while equipping participants with leadership skills and positive values essential for their future growth.
The initiative aligns with the Commission's vision to invest in youth development during summer vacations. It focuses on refining personalities within a supportive environment. By engaging in various activities, children learn essential life skills that contribute significantly to their personal growth.
Through this structured programme, participants gain leadership and organisational skills while embracing positive values. The camp not only nurtures individual talents but also encourages teamwork among young scouts. This comprehensive approach ensures that children leave with enhanced abilities ready for future challenges.
In summary, the 2025 Summer Recreational Scout Camp offers a well-rounded experience for young participants. With its diverse activities and focus on skill development, it provides an enriching environment where children can grow personally and socially under expert guidance.
