Sharjah SRTIP Discusses AI In Achieving Sustainable Profitability And Decarbonisation

The Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park (SRTIP) recently hosted a Business Breakfast meet, focusing on the critical theme of "Balancing Decarbonisation with Profitability: The Role of AI." This event served as a platform to discuss the increasingly important challenge of integrating environmental sustainability with business profitability. As the global community shifts towards a more sustainable future, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to harmonize environmental objectives with financial success has emerged as a key strategy for fostering sustainable profitability.

The gathering attracted business leaders, technology and sustainability enthusiasts, and experts from both the public and private sectors. Giridhary Kutty, Regional Director of ETAP Automation and a noted authority on technology and sustainability, spearheaded the discussions. This provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to network, share information, and delve into the latest advancements in green technology.

SRTI Park's commitment to promoting technological innovation and providing a forum for dialogue on pressing environmental technology issues was evident through this event. The discussions underscored the pivotal role of AI in achieving net zero emissions and how sustainability technologies can contribute to emission reduction by lowering costs and energy consumption. Topics such as clean energy production, carbon capture and storage, innovative heating and cooling methods, recycling, enhancing production efficiency, and hydrogen as a sustainability tool were thoroughly explored.

Furthermore, the session highlighted the application of AI techniques in data analysis and extending equipment lifespan through predictive maintenance. It also illuminated the progress made by UAE companies in adopting green technologies over the past decade, particularly in alignment with UAE Vision 2050.

Hussein Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, emphasized the park's dedication to sustainability. "SRTI Park gives top priority to sustainability. We invite businessmen and investors to take advantage of the unique environment-friendly approach. We believe that while business growth is important, it needs to be aligned to good environmental practices. We are fully supportive of the nation’s roadmap to achieve net zero emissions by 2050," he stated. This approach encompasses technologies like clean energy, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, new heating methods, recycling, and efficiency improvements.

A video presentation showcased SRTI Park’s journey towards sustainability and its achievements in supporting applied scientific and technological research to conduct investment activities according to international standards. The Business Break series aims to bolster Sharjah's status as an investment hub and foster economic and investment partnerships between SRTI Park and the business community.
