SHAMS Partnerships In Sharjah Drive Film And Creative Content Ecosystem Across Emirate
Sharjah Media City (SHAMS) has signed a group of strategic partnership agreements with 14 authorities and institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah to support the SHAMS Studios project and expand the film and creative content industry, strengthening an integrated media production ecosystem aligned with Sharjah’s wider media ambitions.
The new partnerships are designed to develop a coordinated media environment that supports production, content creation and related services. They also aim to improve cooperation between government, economic and creative bodies, helping to unify media messages, increase professionalism and respond to changing media needs across Sharjah’s media sector.
The SHAMS Studios project is described as one of the region’s major future media initiatives and is part of a wider package of media projects in Sharjah. Through this project, Sharjah Media City seeks to upgrade the media production environment by offering advanced facilities for filmmakers, creative professionals and startups.
SHAMS Studios is planned as a fully integrated complex that supports every stage of visual production. It will include five large studios, ranging from 1,500 to 3,400 square metres, along with specialised post-production services, such as editing rooms, visual effects suites and sound design facilities to handle diverse media projects.
The strategic partnership agreements bring together Sharjah Media City and 14 partners from security, aviation, environment, digital services, culture, tourism, investment and banking. These entities are expected to contribute expertise, services and coordination that directly support SHAMS Studios and the wider media production ecosystem in the emirate.

The agreements were signed at the headquarters of Sharjah Media City in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, who attended the ceremony and followed the formal signing process between SHAMS and the participating entities.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed praised the constructive collaboration among the partners and underlined its importance for the development of the media sector in Sharjah. H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed noted that such integration supports a shared media vision, encourages professional standards and helps Sharjah respond effectively to modern media requirements.
The ceremony was also attended by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Sharjah Digital Department, and Sheikh Salem bin Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, together with senior officials, directors of government bodies and representatives of service, economic and investment institutions.
During the event, participants viewed a presentation on SHAMS Studios that explained the project’s foundations and detailed its advanced production ecosystem. The project is expected to help attract major regional and international production companies and content creators, reinforcing Sharjah’s position as a regional centre for creative content production that aligns with international standards.
