Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club Triumphs At Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship

The Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship's second edition concluded its fifth round at Al Nasr Club in Dubai. The event attracted a large audience, creating an energetic atmosphere with top athletes competing in the under-18, adult, and master categories. The final day featured intense contests showcasing high technical skills, reflecting the rapid growth of jiu-jitsu in the UAE and its prominent role globally.

Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club emerged as the overall winner, followed by M.O.D UAE in second place and Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club in third. The closing ceremony was attended by notable figures such as Yousef Abdullah Al Batran from the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Abdulrazzaq Al Hashemi of Al Nasr Sports Games Company. Other attendees included Mohammed Mubarak, Nayef Ibrahim, and Hashem Al Quraishi.

Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, highlighted the championship's role in promoting social cohesion and noble values. He stated: "The Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship embodies the role of sport in strengthening social cohesion and reinforcing noble values across generations." This event provides a platform for athletes and families to experience jiu-jitsu's physical and mental benefits.

Abdulrazzaq Al Hashemi expressed pride in hosting such a significant championship at Al Nasr Club. He noted that jiu-jitsu offers practitioners benefits beyond physical fitness, including character building and discipline. "We are proud to host such an important championship at Al Nasr Club," he said, emphasizing the sport's role in enhancing confidence among participants.

Khaled Waleed Zawia from Al Jazira Club won gold in the under-18 66kg division. He shared his motivation for participating: "I always make it a point to compete in the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship because the strong participation from clubs and athletes gives me the chance to sharpen my skills." His victory added valuable ranking points for his club.
