Sharjah SEC Announces Key Updates To Home Nursing Service For Emirati Families

In a significant move to enhance the welfare and stability of Emirati families, the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC, has introduced pivotal amendments to the Home Nursing Service in Sharjah. The council's decision, aimed at broadening the scope of beneficiaries, was deliberated during a meeting at the office of the Ruler on Tuesday.

The amendments include a notable increase in the total family income threshold for beneficiaries of the home nursing service. Specifically, the Sharjah Social Services Department will now extend financial support for families with incomes surpassing AED 17,500, thereby enabling a wider range of beneficiaries to access this essential service. This strategic adjustment is designed to bolster societal stability by providing critical support to more Emirati families in need.

Furthermore, the establishment of a permanent medical committee named the "Medical Committee for Home Nursing Service" marks a cornerstone in ensuring the provision of high-quality home nursing services. This committee will operate under the vigilant supervision of the Sharjah Social Services Department, with its formation, leadership, membership, allowances, and operational framework being meticulously defined by the council.

The responsibilities entrusted to this newly formed committee are comprehensive and include developing stringent conditions, regulations, categories, standards, and procedures for home nursing services. It will also be tasked with approving medical reports from licensed healthcare institutions, determining eligibility and service duration for applicants, and conducting bi-annual evaluations of ongoing home nursing cases. Additionally, the committee will oversee the suspension and cancellation protocols for home nursing services and address any arising medical or technical complaints.

This initiative reflects Sharjah's commitment to supporting its citizens through enhanced healthcare services and underscores the emirate's dedication to fostering a stable and supportive environment for all families. By increasing accessibility to home nursing services and establishing a dedicated oversight committee, Sharjah is setting a new standard in healthcare provision within the UAE.
