Exeed Geotextile Opens New Factory At Sharjah Airport Free Zone To Strengthen UAE Infrastructure Manufacturing

Exeed Geotextile has opened a new advanced manufacturing facility in the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone, known as SAIF Zone, reinforcing Sharjah’s status as a regional centre for industrial innovation. The plant is the first dedicated geotextile manufacturing facility of its kind in the United Arab Emirates and targets infrastructure demand.

The company, a subsidiary of Exeed Industries, focuses on fibre products and industrial geotextiles used in construction and infrastructure works. Through this expansion, Exeed Geotextile plans to support major transport and development schemes in the UAE and abroad, while strengthening supply chains and long-term partnerships with contractors and consultants.

Exeed Geotextile Opens New Sharjah Factory

The production complex covers around 175,000 square feet inside SAIF Zone and operates with an annual capacity of 3,125 tons. The factory uses a fully automated system supported by European equipment to raise efficiency, expand product lines, and improve reliability for clients in local, regional, and international markets.

Core output includes non-woven geotextiles produced by the needle-punched method using polypropylene and polyester. The facility also manufactures short-cut polypropylene fibres and is supported by advanced laboratories. These laboratories contain precision testing devices that check performance, helping ensure every product complies with strict international quality standards.

The launch comes as global fibre, geotextile, and industrial fabrics markets record strong expansion, especially within road and transport projects. These networks are the main users of geotextile materials, so the new Sharjah facility is intended to support such infrastructure, improve project efficiency, and help achieve sustainability targets across multiple regions.

Exeed Geotextile aims to increase output, improve response times, and extend technical solutions beyond current products. Planned additions include geogrid and composite systems for complex engineering applications. The company expects these solutions to serve roads, railways, utilities, coastal and land development, and environmental protection projects in the UAE and overseas.

The expansion is also designed to reinforce the company’s export footprint across the GCC, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. By manufacturing geotextiles locally, Exeed Geotextile can react more quickly to demand from regional infrastructure developers, government entities, consultants, and specialised distributors, while reducing reliance on imported material.

According to Exeed Industries Group, the decision to invest in Sharjah is linked to the emirate’s integrated industrial base and logistics network. The location near key sea, air, and land routes means SAIF Zone functions as a strategic platform for regional and global operations, supporting both manufacturing and distribution activities.

The inauguration ceremony included a ribbon-cutting led by Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone, and Mohammed Alameer, CEO of Exeed Industries Group, joined by senior representatives from both sides. After the opening, the delegation toured the facility’s different sections and reviewed the workflow and product range.

During the visit, Al Mazrouei and accompanying SAIF Zone officials received detailed explanations about the production stages. They examined technologies used in needle-punched non-woven geotextiles, the fibre lines, and the testing laboratories. The tour highlighted the factory’s focus on quality, operational efficiency, and environmental sustainability throughout its processes.

Saud Salim Al Mazrouei said the new factory is an important addition to Sharjah’s industrial base and reflects confidence in the emirate’s investment climate. Al Mazrouei noted that the project supports SAIF Zone’s strategy to attract high-tech industries that raise supply chain efficiency in construction and infrastructure sectors across the UAE.

Al Mazrouei underlined that the factory is expected to deliver products that match the needs of infrastructure works in Sharjah and nationwide. He stressed that SAIF Zone continues to offer supportive regulations and advanced logistics services. These efforts back national plans for sustainable industrial development, the National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, and the "Make it in the Emirates" initiative.

Exeed Geotextile Sharjah SAIF Zone geotextile advantages for investors

SAIF Zone is recognised as a major investment destination in Sharjah, providing infrastructure and tailored support for companies in commercial, industrial, and service fields. The free zone offers streamlined customs procedures, fast licensing, rapid shipping and clearance, and integrated business services that help investors establish and expand operations efficiently.

For Exeed Geotextile, these advantages support a fully automated manufacturing model with strict quality oversight. The company expects the Sharjah plant to raise advanced production capacity, improve export readiness, and secure reliable supply for clients, while maintaining environmental considerations and compliance with international technical specifications and standards.
