Sharjah's RUWAD Honours Second Cohort Of 'Entrepreneurship Ambassadors' Graduates

The Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD), under the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), recently celebrated the achievements of its second cohort of graduates from the Entrepreneurial Guidance Programme for Sharjah Government Employees, also known as Entrepreneurship Ambassadors. This initiative, now in its second year, has successfully integrated 12 employees from six distinguished government entities into its rigorous training schedule.

The entities involved include the Economic SEDD, Sharjah Police General Headquarters, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sharjah Private Education Authority, Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), and RUWAD itself. Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD, highlighted RUWAD Foundation's commitment to delivering specialized training programmes aimed at fostering entrepreneurial skills among government employees.

RUWAD Celebrates New Entrepreneur Graduates

Al Mahmoud extended his gratitude towards the government entities for their collaboration, which he views as crucial for bolstering institutional support for entrepreneurship and creating a nurturing business ecosystem. He also praised the graduates for their dedication and successful completion of the programme's requirements.

Fatima Al Ali, Acting Director of RUWAD, provided insights into the 'Entrepreneurship Ambassadors' programme's structure. It is designed around vocational and training seminars based on the curriculum from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The intensive eight-day programme awards participants with an accredited diploma from LSE's Generate Centre for Entrepreneurship, equipping them to offer entrepreneurial coaching within their respective workplaces.

The graduation project is a pivotal component of the curriculum where participants apply what they have learned to real-world scenarios aligned with RUWAD Foundation's services. This includes conducting feasibility studies, evaluating business ideas, and preparing funding requests. The comprehensive modules cover a wide range of topics essential for budding entrepreneurs, such as guidance readiness, effective guidance journey, building trustworthy relationships, entrepreneurial mindset and experiences, project forms and institutional personalities, planning tools, and design thinking for customer understanding.

In a gesture acknowledging the collective effort and individual achievements, Abdullah Ali Mahmoud, Director of Support Services at SEDD, concluded the ceremony by recognizing the significant contributions of the participating government agencies and presenting certificates to the proud graduates.
