Sharjah's Ruler Visits Masaar Project, Highlights Sustainable Community Development
H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, recently visited the Masaar project by Arada. This development spans 19 million square feet and costs AED9.5 billion. The visit included H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Arada, Prince Khalid bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, Vice Chairman of Arada, and several company officials.
The Masaar project features 3,000 residential units designed to provide a fully serviced community. It includes housing, infrastructure, health, education, and recreational facilities. During his visit, Sheikh Sultan explored a model residential unit equipped with smart home technologies and learned about its layout.

The project is strategically located near a recreational area in the heart of the Masaar community. The residential units are designed to ensure full privacy for residents, allowing them to enjoy quality family time and engage in various activities.
One of the unique aspects of the Masaar project is its dense environment of trees and diverse plants connecting six neighbourhoods. Over 50 types of trees will be featured, including Ghaf, Samr, Acacia, Hamama, Mahogany, Indian Cork, Spanish Cherry, African Tulip, and Damas. By 2026, the total number of trees planted is expected to exceed 70,000.
The project also offers a range of community amenities such as parks and swimming pools for both children and adults. Additionally, there are sports facilities including a 6.6 km bike path with a dedicated cycling centre, children's play areas, a skate park, separate fitness centres for men and women, tennis courts, basketball courts, football fields, beach volleyball courts, and a food truck area.
Educational Facilities
A British Reigate Grammar School will be part of the Masaar project. This school will follow the British curriculum and have a capacity for 2,700 students when it opens in 2027.
Project Phases
Sheikh Sultan reviewed the overall plan for the Masaar project during his visit to the Masaar Exploration Centre. The centre features open spaces with abundant natural light to showcase the project and facilitate operations for residential unit owners in Masaar.
The second and third phases are scheduled for completion within the next six months. These phases will bring the total completed residential units to 1,400. The remaining three phases will include an additional 1,600 residential units expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
This ambitious development aims to create a vibrant community with extensive facilities catering to all aspects of residents' lives.
