Sharjah Ruler Witnesses Signing Of MoUs To Enhance Educational Standards And Support Teaching Staff
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, attended the signing of three MoUs on Monday. These agreements aim to enhance the educational system, support teaching staff, and improve education quality. The event took place at the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research (SCHESR) in University City.
The first agreement was between the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) and Sharjah Media City (Shams). Dr Muhadditha Yahya Al Hashimi, President of SEA, and Rashid Abdullah Al Obad, Director-General of Shams, represented their respective organisations. This MoU focuses on empowering educators and enhancing education quality by offering specialised scholarships for master's programmes in leadership and educational development.
The second MoU involved the Sharjah Private Education Authority and ZAI Arabic Language Research Centre at Zayed University. Ali Ahmed Al Hosani, Director-General of the Authority, and Dr Michael Allen, Acting President of Zayed University, signed this agreement. It aims to leverage both parties' expertise to improve learners’ Arabic language skills and foster pride in the language within academia.
This collaboration is expected to elevate research standards and development in the educational sector. By enhancing Arabic language skills among students, it seeks to instil a deeper appreciation for the language's cultural significance.
The third MoU was signed between the Sharjah Private Education Authority and "Arabic Scale – Miqyas Al Dhad" Company. Ali Ahmed Al Hosani represented the Authority, while Aisha Hassan Al Yamahi from Miqyas Al Dhad participated as a board member. This agreement aims to adopt the Al Dhad Scale as a standardised tool for measuring Arabic reading literacy.
The initiative seeks to boost reading proficiency among Arabic-speaking students by implementing these standards. Additionally, it aims to raise awareness about Arab literary heritage among younger generations while improving students' performance in reading skills.
These MoUs collectively aim to prepare future academic leaders capable of making sustainable impacts on education. By focusing on leadership development and language proficiency, they strive to create a robust educational framework that supports both educators and students in achieving excellence.
