Sharjah Ruler Sheikh Dr. Sultan Meets Music Students At Academy Of Performing Arts To Encourage Talent Development
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, recently engaged with students from the College of Music at the Sharjah Academy of Performing Arts (SAPA). During this meeting, he commended the academic and administrative staff for their dedication, which has been instrumental in nurturing young talents. He emphasised that the academy's curriculum is designed to prepare students for international success in music and performance.
The Ruler of Sharjah highlighted SAPA's strategic approach across its various colleges, aiming to position it among the world's leading art academies. He encouraged students to remain focused and ambitious, assuring them of his continued personal support throughout their studies and beyond. His Highness expressed his desire for them to excel in advancing music and the arts.
H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan toured SAPA’s facilities, inspecting recent upgrades across its colleges. He visited the lighting room with advanced stage technology, a design studio for stage sets, and a costume workshop where students learn tailoring from their first year. These facilities are part of SAPA's commitment to providing comprehensive education in the arts.
During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan observed training sessions in rehearsal halls and explored the carpentry workshop used for stage design. The academy’s library, housing over 12,000 books dedicated to arts and theatre, was also part of his tour. These resources play a crucial role in enhancing students' learning experiences.
The Ruler enjoyed artistic performances by music students, featuring instrumental pieces on piano, oud, and nay alongside vocal segments that showcased their advanced skills. These performances demonstrated the effectiveness of SAPA's curriculum in refining students' abilities and preparing them for global contributions in music.
H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan listened to explanations about teaching methods designed to ensure graduates are fully prepared for their careers. Faculty members detailed how these methods refine student skills, ensuring readiness upon graduation to contribute meaningfully to global music scenes.
