Sharjah Ruler Urges All Residents To Participate In The Upcoming Census 2025 For Community Benefit

H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, highlighted the importance of the "Sharjah Census 2025" project. This initiative, starting on October 15 and ending on December 31, aims to gather vital population data to guide decision-making for residents' benefit. He urged all Sharjah residents to participate, assuring them that their data would remain confidential.

H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan emphasised that the census is crucial for understanding the living conditions in Sharjah. Speaking on the "Direct Line" programme on Sharjah Radio and Television, he stressed that some might overlook its importance, but it is essential for everyone. Accurate data collection will help improve residents' lives by informing decisions based on their needs and desires.

Sharjah Ruler Calls for Census Participation

The Ruler of Sharjah assured residents that the census information would not be published and remains confidential. He explained that only if directed by him would specific information be reviewed by the Social Services Department for particular tasks. This ensures privacy while allowing targeted assistance when necessary.

H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan stated: "I want everyone in Sharjah to know that through this census, they are communicating with me directly." This process allows him to understand residents' details better and provide meaningful support. The census includes inquiries about financial obligations like installment payments and overall financial capacity.

The Ruler noted that previous census data had already led to improvements such as raising the minimum standard of living for families to AED17,500. New residential areas have been developed, more facilities opened, and job opportunities created. These advancements highlight the significance of accurate data collection in enhancing community welfare.

He urged residents to cooperate with census employees promptly. Delays or refusals in providing information could result in missed opportunities for assistance based on collected data. Each area's data collection targets a specific number of people; hence timely participation is crucial.

Financial Advice for Residents

H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan offered financial advice, urging residents to prioritise necessities over luxuries and avoid unnecessary expenses or increasing bank installments. He advised against buying luxuries with debt as it could deplete one's salary quickly. Instead, any surplus should be used wisely.

The Ruler encouraged parents to consider their children's future interests when making financial decisions. He expressed hope that the census would bring benefits to all people in Sharjah by facilitating informed decision-making based on comprehensive data.
