Sharjah Ruler H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Chairs Education Academy Board Meeting
H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, led the 14th meeting of the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) Board of Trustees. The meeting took place at the Academy's building in University City, Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan expressed gratitude to the Board for their significant support towards advancing educational initiatives.
The Ruler of Sharjah emphasised the importance of using Arabic as the primary language in government nurseries. He highlighted educating children and parents about healthy eating and its role in a child's holistic development. Involving parents in education was also stressed to ensure successful outcomes.
Sheikh Sultan approved plans for expanding the current SPEA building while preserving green spaces. The expansion includes a new centre for early childhood training and a sports facility for various physical activities. These additions aim to enhance educational infrastructure.
The meeting reviewed several reports detailing SPEA's achievements and statistics for the year. A comprehensive report on the fourth edition of the Sharjah International Summit for Education Development, planned for 2025, was also discussed.
The Council examined an annual report on Sharjah nurseries' achievements and statistics. This report included data on registered children and expansion efforts to accommodate growing registration demands. Plans for a central kitchen project and new nursery construction were also outlined.
New members joining from within and outside the UAE were welcomed by Sheikh Sultan. He praised their diverse expertise, which enriches educational, social, financial, and legal aspects within the Board's programmes, particularly in early childhood education.
