Sharjah Ruler H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan Attends UODH Lab Coat Ceremony And Launches Veterinary Laboratory

H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, attended the "Lab Coat" event at the University of Al Dhaid (UODH). This event was for students from the College of Veterinary Medicine. During his visit, he inaugurated the veterinary medicine laboratory and inspected the student housing facilities.

The ceremony commenced with the UAE national anthem in the university theatre. Student Ghala Ibrahim Al Hosani delivered a speech on behalf of her classmates, expressing gratitude to the President of UODH for his unwavering support. She highlighted that this day marks a significant step towards a future filled with responsibility and generosity.

Al Hosani emphasised that wearing the lab coat is not just a professional symbol but also a commitment to humanity, knowledge, and ethics. She described veterinarians as beacons of science and compassion, combining expertise with noble character to ensure community health and well-being.

She reiterated her peers' pledge to uphold their duties with pride, honesty, and sincerity. They aim to contribute their knowledge for national growth. She expressed hope that God would guide them on this path, making today a promising start to an educational future.

Following her speech, students took the veterinary oath. They pledged before God to practice with integrity and professionalism, protect animal health, and continually enhance their knowledge as a lifelong commitment.

The ceremony concluded with H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan posing for photos with students. The students expressed pride in this milestone marking a new phase in their academic journey, embodying values of compassion and contribution.

Inauguration of Veterinary Laboratories

Afterwards, H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan officially opened the College of Veterinary Medicine laboratories by cutting a ribbon. He was briefed on advanced scientific equipment available in anatomy, simulation, microbiology, and diagnostic labs.

The Ruler of Sharjah learned about simulation lab activities like animal handling techniques and cardiac resuscitation procedures. He also examined surgical tools and methods for animal surgery such as knot-tying procedures.

Advanced Educational Tools

The anatomy lab's modern facilities allow precise study of human anatomical structures. Digital display technology and 3D models enable direct interaction with instructional materials, enhancing practical application of theoretical knowledge.

Faculty members briefed H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan on academic programmes and practical training mechanisms that align with global veterinary education standards. These programmes enhance skills in examination, diagnosis, and treatment.

Student Housing Facilities

The President toured male and female student residences, reviewing sections and services offered to residents. These include free healthy meals aimed at improving well-being alongside academic support programmes fostering personal development.

The male residence accommodates 27 students while the female houses 19. Both offer facilities like lounges, gyms, study halls, activity rooms, dining areas ensuring comfort alongside academic achievement within a comprehensive university experience.
